The Federal Reserve Bank has twelve regional locations. Their mission is to serve the public by providing regional, national and global perspectives that inform and influence monetary policy, by fostering financial stability and economic health, and by delivering quality services to financial institutions and the United States government. The New York Fed oversees the Second Federal Reserve District, which includes New York state, the 12 northern counties of New Jersey, Fairfield County in Connecticut, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
