As the importance of broadband connectivity continues to grow for economic development, state and local or regional planning commissions, such as the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, are including broadband in their planning. The federal government provides a number of important data sources that can inform those plans.

Today, we join with our partners in government to announce the American Broadband Initiative (ABI), a comprehensive effort to stimulate increased private sector investment in broadband.
Join BroadbandUSA on March 20, 2019 to learn about the newly launched American Broadband Initiative and Milestones Report, which details the Administration’s strategy to expand broadband connectivity across the country. NTIA will provide an overview of the Initiative’s goals and will be joined by officials from key Agencies who are contributing to its mission.

What they lack in size, they often make up with diversity of their economies, populations, geography, and technology providers. Public-private partnerships (PPP) can help local government and businesses pool their resources and technical expertise to deliver cutting-edge services to citizens.
NTIA's BroadbandUSA Program hosted a broadband workshop in Reno, Nevada on Friday, September 27, 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to engage the public and stakeholders with information to accelerate broadband connectivity, improve digital inclusion, and support local priorities. The workshop provided information on topics including local broadband planning, funding, and engagement with service providers.
NTIA and the U.S. Census Bureau will present information on two large-scale consumer studies focused on computer and Internet use in America. The speakers will highlight the latest data from the surveys about who’s online, who’s not, how and where people access and use the Internet, what concerns they have, and more. Experts will show you how to access the data yourself, point you to open data resources, and answer questions.Learn more about the NTIA Internet Use Survey, a survey of 123,000 people in 52,000 households across the U.S.
