On Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) co-hosted a multi-agency broadband permitting summit at the BLM National Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Over 150 participants registered to hear 13 federal agencies explain in detail how to successfully apply for the right-of-way and special use permits that grant recipients will need to deploy Internet For All (IFA).
The Summit included key permitting information from representatives from NTIA, BLM, the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council, the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the US Forest Service, the Federal Highway Administration, the Bureau of Reclamation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the Rural Utilities Service, and the Appraisal and Valuation Services Office. NTIA also reviewed National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance requirements for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) and other IFA grant programs.
