NTIA's BroadbandUSA Program hosted a broadband workshop in Reno, Nevada on Friday, September 27, 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to engage the public and stakeholders with information to accelerate broadband connectivity, improve digital inclusion, and support local priorities. The workshop provided information on topics including local broadband planning, funding, and engagement with service providers. Speakers and attendees from Nevada, federal agencies, and across the country came together to explore ways to facilitate the expansion of broadband capacity, access, and utilization.

Planning a Community Broadband Roadmap

Community leaders are uniquely qualified to assist in developing a community broadband vision and goals. In order to implement this vision, a broadband planning process should be undertaken. NTIA staff will provide guidance and tips for moving from vision to goals as well as providing insights about partnership models and funding models that have delivered better broadband in communities across the U.S.
